Grand Canyon CavernsA Route 66 Classic, now Celebrating its 75th Year

GRAND CANYON CAVERNS located on Route 66, twenty-two miles west of Seligman, AZ, has limestone walls formed in prehistoric times by an inland sea. Fossils and the bones of long-extinct animals have been found in the Caverns. Although Grand Canyon Caverns has been open to the public for over 74 years, each year new discoveries and deeper wonders are uncovered.

U.S. 40 INDIANA'S HISTORIC NATIONAL ROAD (U.S. 40) – America's first highway is now a National Scenic Byway. Started in 1806, the road began in Cumberland, MD and was carved westward for pioneers heading toward the sparsely populated Midwest. The Indiana portion was begun in 1829 and completed about 1834. When the road was built in Indiana, only four towns were in its path: Richmond, Centerville, Indianapolis and Terre Haute. Today, driving Indiana's National Road evokes a sense of traveling through the passageways of history from early 19th century architecture and 1890s mile markers (only found in Wayne County) to nostalgic gas stations, historic monuments, museums and genuine Midwestern scenic beauty.
Joe Hurley's Route 6 Walk JOE HURLEY'S ROUTE 6 WALK – In 2004, Joe Hurley trekked the length of US Highway Route 6 from coast-to-coast on foot, logging 3700 over an 8 month period. He recounts the experience and his adventures at this wonderful site.
